Duel Aile Magnet: This was the must have lure of the 2007 / 2008 season. We have seen these lures change hands for as much as £17 and all wised-up bass fishermen need no introduction to this lure.

A little background for those of you who have not seen this lure before. It is made by the Duel Lure Company Inc of Japan, parent company of Yo-Zuri infamous for their crystal minnows and other lures. the Aile magnet so called because the ballbearings which supply the casting weight and the rattle are drawn forward on the retrieve by a magnet system in the head of the lure. This makes for longer and more accurate casts along with a proven retrieve action.

On a slow twitching retrieve this lure stays on the surface and works like a popper pushing water while at the same time walking the dog.

On a fast retrieve this lure can be made to dive to around one foot, which is sometimes very useful for shy bass not prepared to break surface.      Prices...

Chug Bugg / Hammerhead: This is a 110 mm, 14g surface popper with loud internal rattles, ideally suited to summer Bass fishing.      Price...

Bass Buster: This surface popper, available in 2 sizes and a range of colours, has a single low frequency rattle casts like a bullet and extremely long distances can be achieved. Excellent for those difficult to reach long range Bass. Another excellent catcher at a very reasonable price...

The Conrad Bass Popper has a slightly narrower profile than the Bass Buster and is about half the weight for a more delicate presentation. It has a nice deep cut face and shifts a large amount of water in front. We have had excellent results with both sea and freshwater fish on this lure.

Bagley Jumping Finger Mullet and Super Stinger 3: Below are two fantastic Bass lures, both worked on or near the surface. The junping finger mullet pops and leaps and zig zags with a simple jerky retrieve while the Stinger 3 is moved much slower with more subtlety. Both of these lures are over 40 years old and have been copied hundreds of times by many different companies.
