What we have here is several examples from several companies of what is arguably the oldest hybrid lure. We believe these first hit the market in the late fifties and that the originals were made by Mepps.

The concept has been copied numerous times by numerous companies since then. The fact remains these are a very effective lure, the larger ones for Pike, the smaller ones for Trout and Perch and lately since they have been available in numerous colours as opposed to the plain pearl plastic of the original, they have been used quite successfully for Bass.

They are known by many names such as Shad spinner, Fish spinner, Spinnerfish etc. etc. and no lure box is complete without one or two.

The Sovereign Wobblex is of course a copy of a famous 1970's lure called the Voblex which dozens of you have asked for and we were unable to source for various complicated reasons like the original manufacturer ceasing trading and the rights to the original lure going to some company in Spain, so yes we have had them copied as closely as possible without treading on any copyright, and yes they do work as well as the originals. With the original Voblex changing hands on Ebay for anything up to £10 each, these are quite clearly a bargain.
