THE EMPIRE LIGHT PILK

is a fantastic all-rounder, great for lure fishing whether on shore or off a boat, great for live baiting & even delicate enough for mullet fishing.
This is a truly remarkable rod, there are not may good quality all-rounders on the market today, most will let you down in one department or another, but this rod fit's the bill !

It is 3m/9' 10" long & will cast lures/baits up to 105gms with ease. it is rated 35gms - 130gms but this is for dropping lead over the side. When we tested it, it happily cast a Salmo Fatso weighing 105gms & right down to a 15g soft plastic it was accurate & powerful.

It is primarily designed for a European method of fishing called "Pilking" this is where you simply hang a small pirk or soft plastic bait over the side & wait for the motion of the boat to do the work. The brightly colored tip is for bite detection in all light levels. The tip is fibre glass, which is softer than carbon fibre & shows up bites better & when it comes to casting, improves your distance & protects the rod from breakage in those last few seconds of the fight when using braid.
All in all this rod is in a class of it's own.
